Dog ownership isn’t something that needs to be taken lightly. A potential dog owner has to be dedicated in providing the canine with all the stuff necessary for his growth. A responsible one understands that a dog requires more than just cuddles, cute collars or fashionable attire. To have a joyful and healthy four-legged Rottweiler, the dog must be fed with the appropriate types of foods, provided with cozy shelter, exercised frequently and should undergo correct Rottweiler training.

If you do not have the time, funds or inclination to bring your naughty canine to an expert, you can obedience train your dog at home to turn him into a well-behaved family member by following some few simple strategies. Within a matter of weeks, your canine friend should have the ability “sit”, “stay” and “come” upon command. Some dogs learn at quicker speed compared to others, but prepare yourself to be patient.

To train your pet to sit, lightly push down on his behind as you give the verbal command “Sit!” and make a hand gesture with your palm facing down. Every time your pet sits successfully, even if you need to help him out, give him a treat and praise him. It is crucial that your pet know how to sit to help you build on this command and eventually teach him to “Stay!”

Teach your puppy the “Leave it!” command. This command is essential in day-to-day scenarios. Use it if your pet tries to seize food off the table or eat rabbit feces when you’re out for a walk. To get the dog to follow your command, hold a treat in your hand (have one in the other hand, also). Keep your hand open and when he goes for the treat, close your hand as you say the command “Leave it!” Then offer him the other treat and discard the one you instructed him to leave. Repeat this procedure a few times and he’ll learn to “Leave it!” whenever you tell him to.

Always be nice and kind to your dog while training him. If your pet is not getting the command quickly, be kind and patient. If he looks like he is ignoring you, show him kindness. A dog doesn’t deserve to be penalized for not learning as instantly as you think he ought to be. In addition, never turn to violence. This will only discourage your dog and teach him that you’re not to be trusted. Instead, stay relaxed and direct your four-legged friend to the behavior you prefer. Bear in mind that your pet wants to please you, but he’s not a human being. He may not understand what is expected of him during Rottweiler training.
